Sofia Mongeon is the Program Coordinator for both the Market Innovation and Education & Engagement team in REBA’s DC office. In this post Sofia supports membership event engagement, policy education and new renewable technology advocacy, among other projects. She has previously served as a Corporate Renewable Energy intern at WWF since January 2018, where she conducted research on state and federal-level energy policy and played an important role in organizing the Fall 2018 REBA Summit.
Sofia also completed two congressional internships with the office of RI Senator Sheldon Whitehouse in both DC and Providence, where she attended briefings and hearings on several topics including clean energy initiatives. She has also channeled her passion for the environment into internships and volunteer opportunities with Save the Bay Narragansett, Plan International and the Audubon Society of Rhode Island.
Sofia graduated from American University in May 2019 with a dual degree in Business Administration and Environmental Studies and a specialization in sustainable business practices. Sofia is a proud native of Rhode Island, and spends her free time hiking, sailing, reading mystery novels, and playing tennis.
